Becoming a trader is a journey that can be as rewarding as almost anything else that we embark upon in this world. Many come to markets to try to make a lot of money (which, unfortunately, doesn’t always work for everyone). Others come to markets for the independence, as trading for a living can be one of the few reasonable ways to ‘become your own boss.’ Others just long for control of their own future, or the ability to have one’s fate in their own hands.
Whatever the reason or the driver, there is a lot of bad information out there that can make that journey so much longer than it needs to be.
If you spend enough time around markets, you’ll likely see countless ‘holy grail’ types of advertisements for educational services or trading strategies. In many cases, this is just some proprietor trying to separate you from your hard-earned money.
Sciences are defined by rules… proven theorems that can then be rested upon to build additional hypothesis. There aren’t too many hard rules when it comes to trading, and by many accounts; trading is more of an art than a science.
At , we do our best to help traders learn the art of trading; and in this article, we’re going to walk through the available products from which we strive to that end.
The 360° Program (Course with private, weekly webinars)
This was an answer to all of the requests from our traders for a ‘self-contained’ trading course. We’ve produced a lot of educational content over the past four years at ; so much so that some traders were having difficulty grasping and integrating all of it at once. The 360° program was designed to help traders see ‘the entire picture,’ when placing their trades.

The 360° Course is a private program that contains a two-hour trading course, and access to private weekly webinars showing how to integrate the course curriculum in a real-time, dynamic basis. We felt this was the perfect combination of tools; offering a condensed educational course that covers the most important concepts traders will encounter, while also giving on-going access to a member of the education team as they show how to use that content in the current marketplace.
As much of the education we provide at , risk management is at the forefront of the content; but focus is also paid towards fundamental and technical analysis as we walk traders through a process known as ‘probability-based trading.’
The 360° Course is completely free-of-charge. Access is granted to any live FXCM Account holder that adds or deposits $10,000 USD (or equivalent) into their trading accounts.

We’ve put a lot of work into PLUS over the past few years.
This is the client portal for FXCM Account Holders. You can access PLUS with the same username and password that you use to access your live trading account. If you don’t’ have a live FXCM Account, you can also subscribe to PLUS for 19.99 per month.
Inside of PLUS is quite a bit of content, including trading signals, SSI, the Technical Analyzer, and of course our educational offerings of the On-Demand Video Course and the Live Classroom.
The On-Demand Video Course has received a lot of great feedback, and we’ve even been lucky enough to win awards with this course. The course offers 15 topics on some of the more pertinent subject matter in the field of trading. Most topics (14 of the 15) offer two levels of lessons, with the first lesson being an introduction, and the second taking the content a step further.

The Live Classroom is where myself and the Team host webinars every single trading day. Topics range from introductory to advanced; and on many trading days we have as much as 7 hours of content. We also cover news announcements such as this week’s FOMC announcement in the Live Classroom.
The topics covered in the Live Classroom definitely isn’t entirely for new traders; as many advanced discussions take place covering topics like Elliot Wave Analysis, Price Action, Advance Risk Management Strategies, and of course, day-trading and scalping.

This is an on-going work in progress that we think will bring considerable value to quite a few traders. University was recently rolled out; and we’re still in the process of filling in the curriculum.
University is a collection of articles written by on a wide variety of topics. The curriculum starts with the ‘Freshman Year,’ covering many introductory topics on the field of trading. The content gets progressively more advanced through the Sophomore, Junior and Senior Years. We’ve also begun creating content for the ‘graduate studies’ area of University.
